Try it now on the DexAlert website.

The story

If you have been hunting for new coins, you probably know by now they are super volatile, and most are pump and dump. It is a risky game to play, so it’s better to equip yourself with price alerts if you are still into it. Please always DYOR before making any investment.

The strategy to make money is easy. Get in early and take profit in time. I do diamond-hand on projects that I believe, but that’s another story. My routine is to discover some new hot coins on websites like Coinhunt, get into presale or buy at launch, stare at the Poocoin chart and wait for it to go to the moon!

I used to buy a new coin which crashed 90% later the day. What hurt me most was it did a 10x during the day, and I missed out because I was too busy to check the price. God, I wish I had set up price alerts to sell it for profit.

Typical shitcoin lifecycle

As far as I know, you can set up alerts on apps like CoinMarketCap and Coingecko, but these “gem” coins are often not listed there. You can also use Telegram bots, but they are not user friendly. Besides, Telegram has too much noise, assuming you are in dozens of groups. There are also a few websites that send you emails or text messages, which I have not tried, so no comment.

Eventually, I decided to make a mobile app myself, which is a good side hassle that can potentially help people like me.

How to use DexAlert

  1. From the DexAlert website, you can download the Android app or use the web interface. To receive notifications, you must log in once from the mobile app. You can check whether your alert is active or not on the setting page.
  2. To register an account is necessary because we need to save your watchlist and alerts. You can sign up with your email or log in with Google.
  3. Select the right network, exchange and paste your token address on the home page, then search. If the coin is valid, you will see a popup to add it to your watchlist. Alternatively, you can click on one of the trending coins or the magnifying glass icon to find some verified coins.
  4. On the watchlist page, clicking on a coin brings you to the alert page, where you can set up your alerts by setting your price target. The current price is at the top right corner. There are shortcuts to copy the address, view the chart, and trade. You can also drag the slider to set the price by percentage.

5. After adding alerts, you are all set! Price is monitored every minute, and you will get alerts once your target is met. You can delete alerts or unwatch coins by swiping left and clicking on the action button if you no longer want them.

Conclusion
